We start and end each Restorative yoga class with deep relaxations. In between we use classic yoga postures to gently stretch and tone. I give lots of alternatives for each pose so everyone can participate. This is a great class to try out yoga. We have mats at the Mill, so just turn up and join our small friendly class.
New Restorative Yoga class starts Monday 11th November 5.45 – 6.45 pm, at the Mill in Walthamstow, close to the stations/bus routes. Restorative yoga uses gentle yoga poses and breathing/relaxation to support your healing, management and recovery from physical and/or emotional health problems. Yoga is recognised by the NHS as being a safe and effective way to improve health, fitness, balance and flexibility. This is a small supportive class, so I can work with you on your own needs and goals. This class is also great for anyone with mobility issues, who would struggle in a mainstream yoga class.
This is a 6 week course so you can build up your knowledge of beneficial postures and breathing exercises. You can also just come along as a drop in.
Book now to secure your place, only £48 for the course, or £9 drop in

I am so excited about my new low cost classes starting tomorrow at the Common house.
First, we have a Restorative Class from 4.30-5.30pm. Restorative yoga is a gentle, therapy focused class for people with physical/mobility/mental health issues.
Then from 6-7pm, we start a new beginners and improvers Ashtanga class. Ashtanga is a fast dynamic form of yoga, where we learn a sequence designed to strengthen, balance and cleanse the body.
More details on the Classes Page.
These classes are small so booking is essential via email@example.com
I have chosen The Common House as my new venue to make the classes explicitly safer spaces for all LGBTQ (lesbian gay bisexual Trans* Queer) people, People of Colour, community workers and activists. Allies welcome!
The lovely women only courses have finished. A big thank you to all the wonderful students who supported this class.
We have moved the Tuesday class to The Common House, where it will now be a fully inclusive space. It is open to all students of any ability, see my “classes” page for details. It was great having a women only space, but with time and venue shortages, we think this is a great way to run a class for anyone who wants a safer space to practice/learn yoga.
Special Summer offer- When you sign up and pay for the new 6 week Ashtanga class at the Mill, Walthamstow, you will get one class free. I have also reduced the class/course price because so many people just don’t have that much money at the moment. To run it for less money, it will be an hour long – that is plenty of time for beginners Ashtanga.
I really want people to be able to try out Ashtanga- it is amazing. It is like a cardio workout and a moving meditation all at the same time. We focus on breathing so it is calming (the meditation bit). But we also keep moving so your body gets very strong and toned. We end with a gentle relaxation so you will leave feeling refreshed and at peace. It is a beginners/introductory course so I will be gentle and supportive.
Ashtanga will change your life if you let it!
Please book this weekend as there are only 8 spaces-a lovely small class so you can get lots of attention and teaching.
Course starts July 25th 7-8pm
I have been practising Ashtanga yoga for 12 years. I have been lucky enough to study under some of the top International teachers; Manju Jois (son of Pattabhis Jois, who developed Ashtanga), Nancy Gilgoff and John Scott.
I have a British Wheel of Yoga Diploma so I am also fully qualified to teach generic yoga posture classes as well as Ashtanga yoga (see below for more on different styles). I have completed several post diploma courses ranging from teaching athletes and sportspeople to teaching people with ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
I have been teaching for 5 years and am qualified and insured through the British Wheel of Yoga. I have also completed the Primary Adjustment courses of both Manju and Nancy.
I teach one to ones, small classes and larger groups. I just love to share this remarkable practice!
All physical yoga is technically “Hatha” yoga, but there are many styles – so I have tried quite a few and found Ashtanga to be the best for people like me who want to have a strong supple body as well as getting the mental health benefits (as it also calms and balances the mind). Ashtanga is suitable for all ages, shapes and abilities.
Ashtanga is one of the more dynamic styles of yoga- it is a flowing form, meaning you don’t stay in poses for long but keep moving. I love the cardiovascular workout I get. But it also uses the traditional yoga poses, so the whole body gets gently stretched and toned and the nervous and endocrine system get balanced. Don’t worry, we will start learning very gently and according to where your body is at on any given day.
I specialise in teaching beginners, who often have physical ailments/injuries. Obviously, as with any exercise, you need to check with your GP if you have any health conditions. However the Primary series is known as Yoga Therapy (“Yoga Chikista”)_because it has so many therapeutic benfits- strengthening the back and balancing the body and mind.
I have trained all over the world, but teach in London. I live in Walthamstow and teach both here and across London.
I am particularly interested in teaching yoga to individuals and communities that find it hard to access mainstream yoga studios and gyms.
Keep checking my pages for the latest information, if I have availability, I will look into setting up a one to one or a class just for you!
Check out what the Ashtanga Primary Series looks like- but don’t worry, we learn it a bit at a time. I am also trained and experienced in tailoring the postures and classes to suit individual needs.
Have a look at this link- Pattabhis Jois teaching advanced students the primary Ashtanga sequence- this is what you learn first. Many people practice and establish this sequence over several years before moving on to the more advanced sequences. You can fast forward some of the early sun salutations as we repeat them a few times when we practice!
Don’t want Ashtanga?
If you like the sound of my approach but want something more gentle/thearpeutic, then still contact me-I also teach non Ashtanga classes. Typically these are bespoke classes for workspaces or individuals- e.g lunchtime yoga classes for office workers or home one to ones. The office classes focus on postures to relieve the physical and mental stress of the workplace. So we might work on releasing and relaxing tight shoulders and necks.
One to ones focus on what it is you need and want from private yoga tuition.
